Jack Finn Athletic Fund

Mission Statement

The Jack Finn Fund mission is to provide scholarship aid and operational support to the student-athletes of Northwood University. By creating a winning atmosphere, supporters look forward to the upcoming seasons of competition. The fund also creates an environment where all Northwood students, alumni, faculty/staff and fans are proud of the Northwood spirit.

Who is Jack Finn?

Jack Finn stepped foot on the campus of Northwood in the fall of 1969 and made an immediate impact. As the head football coach, he transformed a team that finished the 1968 season with an 0-8 record and made them winners.

In Finn's first season as head coach, Northwood finished the 1969 season with a 6-4 record. Jack coached 18 years at Northwood compiling a 87-74record, making him the winningest coach in Northwood history.

During this time period, Northwood also was blessed by Finn's hard work as athletic director. The facilities and efficiency of the current athletic program were paved by the example of hard work and commitment that Jack instilled in all of us.

Northwood University salutes you and thanks you for all you have done.

What Contributions Do?

Over 400 student-athletes at Northwood benefit from the contributions that are made by Northwood supporters. The Jack Finn Fund provides budget support to 17 sports. The fund also helps pay for team travel, equipment, uniforms and recruiting expenses. The general support from past donors has allowed the athletic department at Northwood University to:

  • Construct a student-athletic lounge in the Bennett Sports Center
  • Construct a new strength training facility for all athletics
  • Build a new trophy case on the main floor of the Bennett Sports Center
  • Enhance our athletic training capabilities.

Great programs attract great students and contributions to the Jack Finn Fund create a great atmosphere.
