Football Places 10 On All-GLIAC Teams

All-GLIAC Team

The Northwood University football team placed 10 players on the All-GLIAC teams for the 2009 season.

Junior offensive lineman Will Floyd (Waterford, Mich./Our Lady of the Lakes) earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors, while Northwood placed three players on the Second Team All-Defensive unit: sophomore defensive lineman Andrew Smith (Redlands, Calif.), junior linebacker Andrew DeWeerd (Hudsonville, Mich.), and senior defensive back Jamar Hibler (Saginaw, Mich.).

In addition, six Timberwolves were placed on the Honorable Mention All-GLIAC team. senior wide receivers Antoine Carr (Pontiac, Mich./Central) & Micheal Gillmore (Tucson, Ariz./Flowing Wells), senior defensive end Baher Faik (Rochester, Mich./Adams), freshman punter Tony Hite (Valparaiso, Ind.), senior quarterback Spencer Klukowski (Rockford, Mich.) and senior Emmanuel Southern (Saginaw, Mich.).

Northwood posted the best turnaround in the GLIAC this season, going 7-3 a year after finishing with a 2-8 record. The Timberwolves finished alone in fourth place in the league behind three NCAA Playoff teams. NU was picked to finish 11th in the Preseason Coach's Poll.
