Ian Dimitrie Named To Google Cloud Academic All-District Baseball Team

MIDLAND, MICH. – Ian Dimitrie, a senior pitcher on the Northwood University baseball team, has been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America honorees to be announced in June.

Dimitrie has become one of the top pitchers in the history of the Northwood University baseball program. He ended the regular season leading the league in wins and entered the postseason with a record of 9-2. Dimitrie ranks fifth in the GLIAC in strikeouts (72), second in innings pitches (74.1) and sixth in ERA (4.24). He has 19 career wins for Northwood, good for second in school history and ranking only behind teammate Tyler Jandron (21) on the all-time last. For his career, Dimitrie has gone 19-10 overall with a 3.47 ERA.

Dimitrie is about to graduate from Northwood with a degree in Entrepreneurship. He maintains a 3.57 GPA.

Northwood won its second straight Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championship. The Timberwolves are currently 35-14 overall and ranked third in the latest NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings.
