MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's basketball team has announced their 2018-19 schedule.
Northwood will open the campaign at the GLIAC/GLVC Challenge November 9-10 at Saginaw Valley, as the Timberwolves will take on Indianapolis and Bellarmine. The Timberwolves will then head to Alaska for a pair of games, playing at Alaska Anchorage before taking on Alaska Fairbanks in a neutral site contest. NU plays its first home game November 21 against Walsh. Other non-conference games feature contest at Findlay (November 26) and home versus Madonna (December 17).
The Timberwolves start Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play November 29 with a home game against Northern Michigan. The 20-game conference slate features 10 home and 10 road contests. NU will host rival Saginaw Valley in the season-finale March 2.
In addition, Northwood will play in exhibition games that will announced at a later time.
"Once again, we have a very tough schedule to look forward to this season," said head coach Jeff Rekeweg. "Getting the opportunity to travel to Alaska will be a great experience for everyone in our program. Our other non-conference opponents will also give us a big challenge, which we will need getting ready for the always difficult (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) schedule."
Northwood made posted a six-win improvement a year ago, ending the 2017-18 season with 11 victories. The Timberwolves return nine players from last year's team.
