Men's Soccer Drops 1-0 Contest To Indianapolis

The Northwood University men's soccer team opened their 2013 season with a1-0 neutral site loss to Indianapolis Friday afternoon (September 6).

The contest, which was held at Tiffin University, was opener for Indianapolis as well.

Neither team scored in the opening 45 minutes.  UINDY finished with an 8-4 edge in shots and a 5-2 advantage in corner kicks.

The lone tally of the contest came in the 57th minute on a goal by the Greyhounds Ngwese Ebangwese.  The Timberwolves posted five shots following the goal by Indianapolis, but were unable to find the equalizer.

For the match, Indianapolis finished with a 16-11 advantage in shots and a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.  Northwood keeper Johannes Sterobo (Odense, Denmark/Tornbjerg) made seven saves in the loss.

Northwood will return to action at Lake Erie September 15.
