Men's Tennis Places Four On All-GLIAC Teams

The Northwood University men's tennis team placed four members on the All-GLIAC teams, the league announced this week.

Senior Jean Menard (Amboise, France) and sophomore Lorenzo Montegiorgi (Velletri, Italy) each were named to the First Team All-GLIAC, while freshman Salikh Gilmutdinov (Kazan, Russia) earned Second Team honors. Konstantin Khukov (Kazan, Russia) was named Honorable Mention All-GLIAC.

Menard posted a 13-3 record at No. 1 singles and teamed with Montegiorgi to go 16-4 at the No. 1 doubles slot. Montegiorgi went 13-3 in singles while primarily playing at the No. 2 slot.  Gilmutdinov was 14-5 in singles and 11-7 in doubles, while Zhukov posted a 15-4 singles record and a 10-10 mark in doubles.

Northwood claimed their 20th straight GLIAC Championship this season. NU heads to the NCAA Tournament this Saturday (May 3) for a match against McKendree at the University of Indianpolis. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
