Softball Goes 1-1 Versus Davenport

  • An RBI single from Grace Dutoi drove home Maddie Coulter for the 1-0 Timberwolf lead in the bottom of the first inning.
  • The Panthers plated four runs on five hits in the top of the second inning.
  • DU added two more in the top of the fourth to extend their lead to 6-1.
  • A Jayna Hance RBI groundout plated Delanie Grundman to cut into the Davenport lead in the bottom of the fourth.
  • The Panthers scored a run in the top of the fifth to put the score at 7-2.
  • Northwood put three runs on the board in the bottom of the sixth. Karlie Moore began the scoring, reaching home on a DU fielding error. A bases-loaded walk scored Jayna Hance, followed by Maddie Coulter reaching home on a wild pitch to make the score 7-5.
  • The Timberwolves were unable to plate a run in the bottom of the seventh, giving the Panthers the win.

  • The Timberwolves got off to a nice start in the bottom of the first. A Grundman RBI single, combined with a Panther error, plated Julia Gross and Lauren Castellon. Moore added a sac fly to score Dutoi and take the 3-0 lead.
  • Mankel put another run on the board for NU, reaching home on a passed ball in the bottom of the second. Julia Gross followed with an RBI single to score Coulter.
  • Davenport added their first run of the game in the top of the sixth to put the score at 5-1.
  • Northwood added the final three runs of the game in the bottom of the sixth. Coulter drove home Slick in the bottom of the sixth, followed by a two RBI double from Lauren Castellon to make the final score 8-2.
