Women's Basketball Adds Five Recruits For The 2019-20 Season

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University women's basketball team has announced the addition of five student-athletes to their current recruiting class.

Ava DiMilia, Adele Kemp, Allison Keyser, Maizie Taylor and Makenzie Todd will join the program for the 2019-20 season.

"We are really excited about this incoming class of student athletes," said Northwood head coach Jeff Curtis. "Top to bottom, it is one of the strongest recruiting classes that we have ever had. All five players are great students in the classroom and should all be able to contribute immediately."

New Boston Huron High School

Earned All-League and All-Region honors at New Boston Huron High School … has led Huron league in 3-point field goals three times … averaged 13 points, five rebounds and two blocks per game as a junior.

Curtis: "We are excited about the skill set Ava will bring to our team and expect her to make an impact from day one. She has the ability to score at the basket, post up and stretch the defense with a three."

Greenville High School

Named First Team BCAM All-State at Greenville High School … has earned First Team All-Conference three times … averaged 21.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a junior … ranked in the top-10 in the state in 3-point field goal percentage twice.

Curtis: "Adele is a long and versatile guard that we are really excited about. She can really score the basketball and her length will be a big asset for us on the defensive end of the floor."

 

ALLISON KEYSER

Grand Haven High School

Named Honorable Mention All-State in Class A twice at Grand Haven High School … earned First Team All-Conference three times … reached the 1,000 point mark for her career in her junior season … average 15.7 points, 4.1 steals and 3.3 assists per game as a junior.

Curtis: "Alli's style of play really fits our system and I am confident she will hit the ground running. She is a great playmaker and has intangibles that will really help our team."

 

MAIZIE TAYLOR

Midland Dow High School

Earned All-League honors three times at Midland Dow High School … holds school record for assists in a game (12) … ranks second in Dow history with 126 assists in a season … despite an injury coming into her junior year, averaged 7.9 points and 4.6 assist per game as a junior … younger sister of Ellie Taylor, who is currently a sophomore for Northwood.

Curtis: "Maizie is a great fit for our program and will add some toughness to our guard position. She has great versatility and the ability to push the ball in our up-tempo style of play. She has a knack for making the people around her better."

Grand Ledge High School

Named First Team All-Conference three-times at Grand Ledge High School … two-time All-Area honoree … Honorable Mention All-State … as a junior, averaged 17.5 points, 4.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

Curtis: "Makenzie has great speed and skill at the guard spot. We really like how well she shoots the ball and her ability to get into the paint on offense. She really fits our system and will stretch the floor for us."
