Ashley Sloup is in her first year as an assistant coach at Northwood University after joining the programs in the summer of 2018.
She is the first full-time coach in the history of the golf programs at Northwood. Sloup will work extensively with both the men’s and women’s teams.
“I'm very excited to have Ashley as my first full time assistant coach, said head men’s and women’s golf coach Dave Turner. “She is a very accomplished player, so we are lucky to have her join the NU family. She will definitely help elevate the program and i am excited to get her input to help in our success.”
Sloup was a four-year letterwinner at Winthrop in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was one of the top players in program history, earning All-Big South honors three times. Sloup was named the Big South Women’s Golfer of the week five times in her career. A four-time Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar, Sloup finished her senior season with a scoring average 75.0.
“I am excited to be the new assistant golf coach and learn from Coach Turner,” said Sloup. “With his experience and the potential of both teams, I am honored to be a part of the Northwood family. I hope to help Coach Turner lead both teams to success.”
