D1 Hockey Triumphs Over Toledo With Two Wins

RECAP: The Division 1 hockey team had two wins over the weekend against the University of Toledo, with a 10-2 home win on Friday night (November 21) and a 4-1 away win on Saturday afternoon (November 22). 

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS  

  • Vanderdonck completed a hat trick in the third period and finished the night with four goals, scoring once from Gooley and Ayuyu, again from Bryce Garber and Moule, and a third time from Ayuyu and Gooley. Northwood also added goals from Duffany, assisted by Crawford and Collin Baker, and from Croston, assisted by Baker and Duffany. Northwood closed out the game with a dominant 10–2 victory.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS  

  • The Rockets struck first again, taking an early 1–0 lead. Northwood later tied the game 1–1 on a power-play goal from Scheurer, assisted by Vanderdonck and Moule. 

  • A quiet second period featured just thirteen shots and three penalties between the teams. 

  • Northwood came out strong in the third. Scheurer set up Nies to give the Timberwolves a 2–1 lead, then added a goal of his own, assisted by Nies, to extend the advantage to 3–1. Moule capped things off with a late power-play goal, set up by Vanderdonck, securing a 4–1 Northwood victory.
