RECAP: The Division 3 hockey team split games against Calvin over the weekend, losing 6-0 away on Wednesday evening (December 3), followed by a 6-0 win at home on Saturday afternoon (December 6). 

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Calvin opened the game with three goals in the first period, including one on the power play, to take a 3-0 lead. 

  • The Knights added two more goals in the second period, another coming on the power play, to extend their lead to 5-0. 

  • Calvin capped off the night with one more goal in the third period to win 6-0.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Calvin pulled one back early in the second period, but Sanborn quickly answered with a goal assisted by Harfoot and Ciesielski to make it 4-2. Calvin struck again to cut the deficit to 4-3, before Ciesielski restored Northwood's two-goal lead at 5-3 off a feed from French. 

  • Calvin converted a power play in the third period to make it 5-4 with twelve minutes remaining, but Sanborn sealed the win with an empty-net insurance goal, assisted by Carter Remp and Iavasile, securing a 6-4 Northwood victory.
