Baseball Places Five On All-GLIAC Team
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team placed five players on the All-GLIAC teams, the league announced Wednesday night (May 7).
The trio of third baseman Larsen Cronkright (Midland, Mich./Kellogg CC), second baseman Cody Rogers (Saginaw, Mich./Swan Valley) and designated hitter Travis Smith (Clare, Mich.) all earned Second Team All-GLIAC honors. Pitcher Steven Latos (Lloydminster, Alberta/Lloydminster Comp. (Thompson Rivers U.) and third baseman Daniel Pulver (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) were named to the Honorable Mention team.
Cronkright batted .351 while playing a variety positions for Northwood. Rogers hit .320 with a team-high nine doubles, while Smith led the team with a .375 average and three home runs. Pulver turned in a strong freshman season, ending the year with a .308 average and 25 RBIs. Latos picked up three wins on the mound while leading the team with 53 strikeouts.
