Joe Di Benedetto Named Assistant Athletic Director For Facilities and Events

MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has announced a new role for Joe Di Benedetto.

After spending the last 15 years as the head coach of the Baseball program, Di Benedetto has accepted a new position as an Assistant Athletic Director in charge of Facilities and Events.

Di Benedetto, who has been a part of the Northwood University system since 1991, brings a wealth of administrative experience to his new role.  While at the Northwood University Florida campus, he was the Athletic Director for the Seahawks. He was a part of the campus adding a total of seven varsity sports.  After he came to Michigan to coach the Timberwolves, Di Benedetto was in charge of facilities for over ten years.

"We have a need in our department for someone to handle the facilities and events side of our operations," said Athletic Director Dave Marsh. "When considering filling this role, Joe was the first person I thought of. He has experience as an Athletic Director and was involved in facilities and events on our campus for many years.  We have always worked well together so I am excited for him to join our administrative staff."

Di Benedetto just completed his 15th season as the head coach of the baseball program. He won 300 games as the coach of the Timberwolves and posted 613 victories in a 26-year coaching career.

The search for a new baseball coach will begin immediately.
