Cole Brooks Named First Team All-America By The NCBWA

2021 NCBWA Division II All-America Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – Cole Brooks, a senior on the Northwood University baseball team, has earned First Team All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

He is the second player to earn First Team All-America honors at Northwood. David Vinsky earned the honor from the ABCA in 2017.

Brooks was named the GLIAC Player of the Year this season, becoming the first Northwood player to win  the award since Ed Clements in 1995. This season, Brooks led the GLIAC in batting average (.444) and on-base percentage (.534). He also ranks second in runs batted in (58), third in total bases (105), third in walks (29) and third in slugging percentage (.691). Brooks had at least two hits in 24 of 41 games played this season. His .444 average is tied for the eighth highest in the history of the GLIAC and third in Northwood history.

Northwood currently stands 27-15 overall. NU made the NCAA Regional Tournament for the fourth consecutive time.
