TICKET PUNCHED! Baseball Makes Fifth Straight Trip To The NCAA Tournament
MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University baseball team has been named the fifth seed for the upcoming 2022 NCAA Midwest Regional Tournament.
This marks the fifth straight time the Timberwolves have earned a bid to the NCAA Championships, dating back to 2017. NU had never reached the event prior to this streak.
The brackets were announced Sunday night (May 15) by the NCAA. Each of the eight regions will host tournaments, with the winners of each region advancing to the Division II World Series June 4-11 in Cary, North Carolina.
The Midwest Regional is split into two locations, with the top-seeded Davenport hosted fourth seed Quincy and fifth seeded Northwood. No. 2 seed Wayne State hosts Illinois-Springfield (No. 3 seed), Ashland (No. 6 seed) and Walsh (No. 7 seed) .
The Northwood/Quincy game will take place at Noon on Thursday. The loser of that game will play immediately afterward against Davenport. Friday's schedule will be depend of Thursday's results.
