Jayden Dentler Named Second Team All-Region

2022 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – Jayden Dentler, a freshman pitcher on the Northwood University baseball team, has been named  to the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings All-Midwest Region Second Team.

The teams are voted on by members of the ABCA and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Div. II All-America Committee.

Dentler earned Freshman of the Year honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He became an immediate force for Northwood on the hill this season, ending the season with a 7-2 record and a 2.87 ERA.  He ended the year first in the conference in innings pitched (94.0) while standing third in ERA, third in wins and fourth in strikeouts (61). He tossed at least five innings in 13 of his 14 starts this season.

Northwood made its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament this season, ending the year with a 31-23-1 overall record.
