No. 20 Baseball Earns 7-1 Win Over No. 24 Grand Valley State

RECAP: No. 20 Northwood baseball bounces back to claim a 7-1 win over No. 20 Grand Valley State to finish a four-game series Sunday (February 15).
GAME HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)
- Northwood, which had fallen behind in each of the first three games of the series, took their first lead of the weekend in the opening inning. Matthew Meyer came through with a two-run single to make the score 2-0 after one.
- The Timberwolves extended their lead in the third thanks to RBI doubles from Ben Narr and Grant Garrett to push the lead to 4-1.
- Grand Valley State got on the board with a solo home run in the top of the fourth.
- Payton Guilbeaux got that run back for Northwood in the top of the sixth on an RBI single.
- NU added two more in the seventh, thanks to a sacrifice fly from Ben DeVries and Caden Duryea coming home on wild pitch to give Northwood a 7-1 advantage.
- Neither team scored in the final two innings, giving the Timberwolves their first victory of the season.
