Baseball Splits Doubleheader At Kentucky Wesleyan

RECAP: Northwood baseball split at Kentucky Wesleyan for the second straight day Saturday (March 14), with KWC winning game one 6-4 before NU took game two 6-5.
GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)
- Northwood got on the board first on a solo home run by Brennan Hallman in the top of the third.
- The Timberwolves made it 2-0 in the top of the fourth on an RBI single from Ben Narr.
- Kentucky Wesleyan responded right away in the bottom of the fourth on a solo home run to make the score 2-1.
- KWC added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth to go up 4-2.
- Anthony Manganello came through in the top of the seventh with a clutch two-run double to tie the game at 4-4.
- The Panthers responded with a clutch hit of their own in the bottom of the inning to earn the win, connecting on a walk-off home run to take the game 6-4.

- Northwood responded with a two-run homer in the fourth thanks to Connor McCartan to put the Timberwolves on top 2-1.
- NU made it 3-1 in the top of the fifth thanks to a sacrifice fly from Josh Getz that made the score 3-1.
- KWC came right back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to level the score once again.
- Maganello put the Timberwolves back on top with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth.
- Kentucky Wesleyan scored one in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead to one at 5-4.
- Caden Duryea came through for NU with a RBI triple in the top of the eighth to make it a two-run game.
- KWC responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth to make it 6-5 heading to the ninth.
- Jackson Crittendon closed out the game by striking out the final three batters of the contest, giving Northwood weekend split.
