RECAP: Northwood baseball drops a pair of games to Malone Friday (March 27), falling in game one 14-3 before losing game two 5-3.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (NINE INNINGS)

• Malone set the tone for the game in the top of the first inning, plating three runs.
• Northwood got on the board in the bottom of the second, starting with an RBI groundout from Matthew Meyer.
• Ben DeVries followed with an RBI double to make the score 3-2.
• The Pioneers scored two in the fourth and one in the sixth to make the score 6-2.
• Meyer got one back for the Timberwolves in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly.

• Malone plated single runs in the second and the third to go up 2-1.
• Evan Kavalick tied the score at 2-2 on a sac fly to tie the score.
• The Pioneers went on to score single runs in five straight innings (second-sixth) to go up 5-2.
• Hammer got one back in the final inning on an RBI single to round out the scoring.
• Missed opportunities proved costly for Northwood in the game – the Timberwolves had the bases loaded with no outs in the third and the sixth but scored just one run combined in those two innings. In all, the Timberwolves left nine runners on base in seven innings.
