RECAP: Northwood baseball earns a doubleheader sweep over Hillsdale Monday (April 6), earning wins by the scores of 8-3 and 9-5.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SEVEN INNINGS)

• Northwood's offense did all of its damage in the opening inning, starting with a Brendan Hammer sacrifice fly.
• Anthony Manganello followed with a bases loaded walk to go up 2-0.
• Evan Kavalick made the score 3-0 on a sacrifice fly.
• After Connor McCartan came home on an error, Manganello scored on a wild pitch to go up 5-0.
• Northwood pulled off a double steal by Josh Getz and Mason Brunworth to push their lead to 6-0.
• Brennan Hallman registered his second double of the first inning, scoring Getz to give Northwood a seven-run advantage.
• NU capped their huge opening inning on a Evan Larson RBI single that made the score 8-0 after one inning.
• Hillsdale scored one in the fourth and two in the fifth, all on bases loaded walks, but were unable to get any closer.

• The star of game two on offense was Kavalick. He got going with a two-run single to right in the bottom of the second inning.
• Hallman made the score 3-0 on a sac fly heading to the third inning.
• Kavalick came through in the bottom of the third with the biggest hit of the game, a three-run triple to go up 6-0.
• Brunworth pushed the lead to 7-0 with an RBI single heading to the fourth inning.
• Hillsdale fought back in the top of the seventh inning, plating five runs to make the score 7-5.
• NU got one back in the bottom of the seventh on Kavalick's sixth RBI of the game thanks to a sac fly.
• Hammer made the final 9-5 on a sac fly in the bottom of the eighth inning.
