RECAP: Northwood baseball loses a pair to Ashland Sunday afternoon (April 26), dropping a tough 4-3 extra innings contest in game one before falling 10-2 in game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS (SCHEDULED FOR SEVEN INNINGS)

  • Ashland scored the first run of the game in the top of the third inning.
  • The Eagles added another run in the top of the fourth
  • Connor McCartan came through with a big hit in the bottom of the fourth, connecting a two-run home run to level the score at 2-2.
  • Anthony Manganello gave the Timberwolves their first lead of the day in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single.
  • With two outs and a runner on second in the top of the seventh, Northwood was one strike away from earning the victory. But an error on a groundball allowed the tying run to score and force extra innings.
  • AU scored a run in the top of the eighth and held NU off the board in the bottom of the inning to give the Eagles the victory.
