Esports: Overwatch Advances to OWC Grand Finals After Dominant Playoff Run

MIDLAND, MICH. – This past weekend, the Northwood Overwatch team competed in the Overwatch Collegiate (OWC) Playoffs, earning a spot in the Grand Finals set to take place in Orlando, Florida. Competing in a 32-team bracket, the Timberwolves battled through top collegiate programs in a multi-day event from Friday (March 13) through Sunday (March 15).

Throughout the weekend, Northwood secured victories over the University of Virginia, North Carolina State University, Bellevue University, Cumberland, and ultimately Winthrop University in the winner's grand finals, clinching their qualification for the championship match.

With their playoff run complete, the Timberwolves now advance to the OWC Grand Finals on April 26, where they will face Winthrop University head-to-head for the Spring season championship title.
