MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University Junior Varsity Valorant team secured a third-place finish in the North Conference of the College Valorant (CVAL) Open Division following a strong playoff run spanning several weeks.

The Timberwolves began their postseason on February 28 in the quarterfinals, where they earned a decisive 2-0 victory over Indiana University. Advancing to the semifinals on March 7, Northwood faced conference champion Akron University, falling in a tightly contested 2-1 series. Northwood closed out its season in the third-place match on March 18 against Ball State University. After edging out a narrow 14-12 win in game one, the Timberwolves carried their momentum into game two, securing a dominant 13-7 victory to take the series 2-0 and claim a spot on the podium.

Matthew "SoraFTW" Sorrentino delivered a standout performance throughout the series, leading all players in individual score in game one while finishing as the second-highest scorer overall—and top scorer for Northwood—in game two.
