Esports: Overwatch Duo Qualifies for 2026 OWCS Champions Clash with Dallas Fuel

MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University Esports continues to make waves on the global stage, as varsity Overwatch players Christopher "Cjay" Smith and Rocco "Kronik" Iaccobacci have qualified for the 2026 Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Champions Clash with their professional team, Dallas Fuel.

Smith and Iaccobacci earned their place in the international event following a dominant run by Dallas Fuel, who completed a flawless regular season and playoff performance. The team enters the Champions Clash as the first seed out of the North American region.

The OWCS 2026 Champions Clash will feature the top teams from across the globe, including two teams each from North America, Europe, China, and the Asia-Pacific region. The event brings together the highest level of Overwatch competition, showcasing elite talent from every major region.

While Smith and Iaccobacci are the only current Northwood players competing in the event, the program will also be represented by alumnus Landon "Landon" McGee. McGee qualified as the second seed out of Europe with his professional team, Virtus.pro, further highlighting Northwood's growing impact on the international esports scene.

The OWCS 2026 Champions Clash is scheduled to take place from May 22 through May 24 in Tokyo, Japan, where the world's best teams will compete for a global title.
