Esports: Northwood Players Selected to Represent Home Countries in International World Cup Competition
MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University Esports players Joseph "Lep" Cambriani and Gwil "Creamz" Muir are set to compete on the international stage, representing their home countries in two of the largest global esports competitions: the Overwatch World Cup and the FIFAe Rocket League World Cup.

Cambriani has been selected to represent Argentina in the 2026 Overwatch World Cup, an international esports competition operated directly by Blizzard Entertainment. The qualification process spans several months and includes interviews, evaluations, and tryouts for players hoping to earn a roster spot for their respective countries. In addition to making the roster, Cambriani was also named captain of Team Argentina for this year's event.
Argentina will compete in the online Americas Qualifier later this May, where teams will battle for one of four spots at the in-person World Cup Finals scheduled for August. Team Argentina's group includes Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Puerto Rico, and the United States. The United States roster also features Northwood Esports alumnus Landon "Landon" McGee.
Muir will represent Wales in the FIFAe Rocket League World Cup, an international tournament officially organized by FIFA. The competition is part of FIFAe's growing esports initiative, which also includes global events in titles such as Football Manager and eFootball.
Wales will begin competition in the European Nations League this June, facing off against 29 other European countries. Following the Nations League stage, the top 16 teams will advance to the Continental Championship, where nations will compete for qualification into the FIFAe Rocket League World Cup Finals. The final event will feature top teams from Europe, North and Central America, South America, Asia and Oceania, and Africa competing for the 2026 FIFAe Rocket League World Championship title.
The international selections for Cambriani and Muir continue to highlight the talent and global reach of the Northwood University Esports program, as Timberwolves players continue to earn recognition on some of the biggest stages in competitive gaming.
