Max Gonos Named GMAC Special Teams Player of the Week

Max Gonos, a sophomore kicker on the Northwood University football team, has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) Special Teams Player of the Week.

He is the first Northwood University athlete to earn a GMAC Athlete of the Week award, as the Timberwolves joined the conference this fall.

Gonos had a perfect day kicking for Northwood in the Timberwolves 55-13 season-opening win over Kentucky Wesleyan. He went 2-2 on field goals (33, 43 yards) and connected on all seven extra point attempts. Gonos also had four touchbacks on kickoffs.

Northwood returns to action Saturday (September 10) against Madonna. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
