Stevie Douglas Named G-MAC Defensive Athlete of the Week
MIDLAND, MICH. - Stevie Douglas from the Northwood University football team has been named the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Defensive Athlete of the Week Monday (September 18) for his game against Tiffin.
He is the first NU football player to earn the honor this season.
Douglas had a great individual performance against Tiffin, finishing with 15 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a blocked extra point. He returned the interception 100 yards for a touchdown, becoming the second player in school history to have a 100 yard interception return and the first since 1987. Douglas currently leads the team with 29 tackles on the season.
Northwood returns to action against Lake Erie this Saturday (September 23). Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
