The Northwood University men's basketball team fell to 1-2 on the season with a 79-62 loss to No. 20 Indianapolis Saturday afternoon (November 17).
Indianapolis improves to 3-0 with the victory.
The Greyhounds set the tone for the game right away, scoring the opening 12 points of the contest. Indianapolis led by as many as 22 points in the half before settling for a 45-30 lead at the break. Northwood shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the half (10-20), but Indianapolis finished at 62.1 percent in the opening 20 minutes.
Northwood got the lead down to 11 (60-49) with 8:38 to go, but that is as close as they would get the rest of the way.
For the game, Northwood shot 42.9 percent overall (24-56) while Indianapolis finished at 50.0 percent (28-56).
Wes Wilcox (Roselle, Ill./Harper CC) led the way for the Timberwolves. He finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Darvin Ham (Saginaw, Mich./Bridgeport) added 12.
Northwood returns to action Saturday (November 24) against No. 7 Winona State. That game gets under way at 3 p.m.
