Men's Basketball Earns Third Straight Victory, Winning At Purdue Northwest 89-73

RECAP: Northwood men's basketball picks up its third straight winning, earning an 89-73 road win at Purdue Northwest Saturday afternoon (November 23).

GAME STORY

  • Northwood had a strong start to the game, scoring nine of the first 11 points of the contest.
  • The Timberwolves maintained their lead the rest of the half, not allowing Purdue Northwest to get any closer than three.
  • The remainder of the half was full of runs. NU went on a 16-8 push to turn a three-point lead into a 25-14 lead with 10:59 remaining.
  • Later, the Pride scored eight of 10 points to get within three at 31-26.
  • Northwood immediately posted an 11-2 run to take their biggest lead of the opening 20 minutes at 42-28.
  • PNW made the final push of the half, scoring the final seven points to make the score 42-35 at the break.
  • Northwood came out hot in the second half, connecting on their first five field goal attempts. That stretch allowed the Timberwolves to go on a 10-1 run to take their biggest lead to that point at 56-40.
  • While Purdue Northwest did not go away, Northwood maintained control the remainder of the way. The Panthers got no closer than eight in the second half.
  • The Timberwolves pushed the lead to as many as 20 (89-69) before winning by 16. Northwood never trailed in the game.
