Bio

Lewis Garner is in his second year back as an assistant at Northwood.  He is both an assistant for Jeff Rekeweg’s team as well as the head coach of the NU J.V. program.

Garner has over 20 years of coaching experience and has been a head coach both at the high school collegiate level. He was an assistant coach at Northwood for eight seasons from 1997-2005.

Most recently, he was the assistant director of basketball operations for Mindworks, Inc., operating out of Hangtime Sports in Midland.

Garner is a graduate of Ferris State University, where he was a standout player for the Bulldogs. He ranks 11th in FSU history in scoring (1,437 points) and was inducted in the Ferris State Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007. Garner also earned his master’s degree from Central Michigan in educational administration and community leadership.

A native of Niles, Mich., Garner lives in Midland with his wife Jodie. He has four children – David (18), Malik (14), Elijah (12) and Jada (8).
