Bio

DJ Mocini is now in his third season with the Northwood Men’s Basketball Program. 

Mocini was a key part of Northwood’s dramatic improvement in 2011-12.  The Timberwolves improved by eight games from the previous season and earned a GLIAC North Division title.

Prior to his arrival at Northwood, Mocini was a graduate assistant at Dayton.  While with the Flyers, Mocini contributed to a program that had a 52-20 overall record, including a NCAA tournament 2nd round appearance in 2009, and winning the NIT Championship in 2010.

Mocini received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Management from Albion College in 2008. He played four years of basketball for the Britons under Coach Mike Turner, helping the program to 75 wins between 2004 and 2008. As a senior in 2007-08, Mocini was a co-captain, averaging more than 9 points per game and dishing out nearly 2.5 assists per contest.

Mocini completed his Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton in May of 2012. Mocini is a native of Saugatuck, Michigan. He graduated from Saugatuck High School in 2004, where he was a four-year letter winner in basketball.
