Men's Golf Compete At Parkside Spring Invitational

The Northwood University men's golf team finished 11th at the Parkside Spring Invitational Sunday and Monday (March 31-April 1).

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Otter Creek G.C. in Columbus, Indiana.  The course played as a 6,903 yard, par 72.

Northwood shot team scores of 310 and 318 to finish at 628 overall.  Wisconsin-Parkside was the overall winner at 598, followed by Ferris State at 599. A total of 14 teams took part in the event.

The Timberwolves were led by freshman Matt Benson (Grand Ledge, Mich.).  He carded rounds of 76 and 78 to finish with a 10-over par total of 154, good for a tie for 31st.  Bruce Eccleton (Saginaw, Mich./Mott CC) shot 77-80 to finish tied for 43rd.  A total of 90 players took part in the event.

Northwood will compete at the third NCAA Regional tournament April 6-7.
