Men's Golf Places 15th At The Purgatory Regional
NOBLESVILLE, IND. – The Northwood University men's golf team placed 15th out of 30 teams at the Purgatory Regional Monday afternoon (April 14).
The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Pugatory Golf Club. The course played as a par 72 at 7,268 yards.
The Timberwolves carded rounds of 312 and 304 to finish at 616 overall. NU's second round total of 304 was the third-lowest of the day. Wayne State was the overall winner at 596 (294-302), followed by Grand Valley State at 598 (304-294).
Matt Benson (Grand Ledge, Mich.) led the way for Northwood, finishing with an eight-over par total of 152 (76-76) to tie for 24th overall. Gilles Medale (Valence D'Agen, France) tied for 34th at 153 (80-73). A total of 150 players took part in the event.
Northwood will compete at the GLIAC South Tournament April 19-20.
