Men's Golf Places 10th At GLIAC Championships
GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Northwood University men's golf team placed 10th at the GLIAC Championships Sunday afternoon (October 12).
The three-day, 54-hole event was held at the Cherry Blossom Golf Course, which played at 6,842 yards (par 72).
Northwood shot team scores of 300, 300 and 291 to finish at 891 overall. Tiffin was the overall champion at 856, followed by Malone (868) and Grand Valley State (871). A total of 15 teams took part in the championship.
The Timberwolves were led by Matt Garland (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview), who finished with a two-over par total of 218. Included in his tournament was a hole-in-one on the 207 yard par three fourth hole. He tied for 16th overall in the event. Matt Benson (Grand Ledge, Mich.) tied for 35th at 224 (74-77-73). A total of 74 players competed in the tournament.
Northwood has completed their fall season.
