Men's Golf Places Ninth At AMFAM Spring Invitational
COLUMBUS, IND. – The Northwood University men's golf team placed ninth at the AMFAM Spring Invitational Monday afternoon (March 30).
The two-day, 36-hole event was host by Wisconsin-Parkside at the Otter Creek Golf Club.
The Timberwolves shot team scores of 303 and 312 to finish at 615 overall. Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 596, followed by Indianapolis at 599. A total of 15 teams competed at the event.
Leading the way for Northwood was Paul Ostby (Mt. Morris, Mich./Mott CC). He shot rounds of 71 and 79 to tie for 10th overlal. Justin Phillips (Owosso, Mich.) shot 152 (75-77) to tie for 25th. A total of 97 players took part in the tournament.
Northwood will compete at the third NCAA Regional Tournament April 4-5.
