RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse was back on the field Tuesday (February 25) afternoon in Kansas City taking on William Jewell. The Timberwolves defense shined as Northwood brought home the first program victory since 2000 with an 11-5 win over the Cardinals.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS 

  • Drew Lockwood put the Timberwolves out in front early in the first at 13:56.
  • A tight game throughout the scoring was held at a minimum throughout the first quarter. Each team took turns going one 2-0 scoring runs for a 3-2 NU lead after the first.
  • In the second, only three more goals were scored in the first half, as teams went into the lock rooms tied up 4-4. The Timberwolves and Cardinals keepers held .600 (Owen Brown - NU) and .667 (Fynn Zeibarth - WJC) save percentages.
  • Out of the break, Northwood would match their scoring from the first half in the first eight minutes of game action. Ryder Mulvey pushed the pace for the Timberwolves scoring a hat trick with all coming in the third quarter.
  • Northwood's offense and defense continued to complement each other as the second half went on. The Timberwolves rode a 6-0 scoring run out of the break to take a 10-4 advantage after three quarters.
  • The Timberwolves defense stifled the Cardinals in the third quarter, pitching a shutout, 10-4 after three.
  • The teams traded goals to start the fourth before Northwood's defense held strong to earn the program's first win of 2025, 11-5 over William Jewell.
