Men's Lacrosse Finishes Comeback Season In G-MAC Quarterfinals

RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse finished their comeback season in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, falling to Walsh 20-8 in North Canton on Saturday (April 26).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS 

  • The first period saw back-and-forth action. Walsh took the early 1-0 lead less than 30 seconds into the match at the 14:31 mark.
  • Northwood responded with back-to-back scores at the 10:59 and 10:28 mark. Cole Williams in McKennan Tognetti were credited with the scores, 2-1 NU.
  • The teams traded goals to finish out the first, but Walsh took the lead for good, a 4-3 edge going into the second quarter. Ryder Mulvey scored one of his own at the 1:12 mark.
  • The second is where Walsh began to take control of the match. The Cavaliers went on a 7-2 scoring run going into the half. The Cavaliers held an 11-5 lead at the midway point.
  • The Cavalier defense continued to hold Northwood's scoring to a minimum to start the second half. A41 scoring run in the third left Walsh with a nine-goal lead heading to the fourth quarter, 15-6 WU.
  • The Cavaliers put the game on ice, opening the largest lead of the match with five straight goals to open the last period. With 5:22 remaining on the clock, the Cavaliers held a 20-6 advantage. Northwood tabbed two more scores late, but fell, 20-8.
