Men's Lacrosse Makes Statement In 18-1 Win Over Malone

RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse delivered a dominant wire-to-wire performance Saturday (March 21), rolling to an 18-1 victory over Malone at Dean Field. The Timberwolves controlled the game from the opening possession, scoring the first 17 goals and holding Malone scoreless for over 53 minutes.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood wasted no time setting the tone, opening the scoring just over a minute into the contest on an unassisted goal from Andrew Rogers. The Timberwolves continued to apply pressure throughout the first quarter, adding three more goals—including a pair in the final 32 seconds—to take a 4-0 lead after one.
- The Timberwolves broke the game open in the second quarter, outscoring Malone 7-0 in the frame. Northwood generated consistent offensive opportunities, capitalizing with goals from six different players while holding an 11-0 advantage at halftime.
- NU's control of the game was evident, holding a 42-5 advantage in shots at the half.
- Northwood maintained control in the third quarter, extending the run to 16-0 behind a balanced offensive attack. The Timberwolves continued to dominate possession and limit Malone's chances, allowing just five shots in the opening half and keeping the Pioneers off the scoreboard through three quarters.
- After pushing the lead to 17-0 early in the fourth, Malone broke through with its lone goal at the 6:39 mark. Northwood quickly responded, as Noah Kowalski netted his first goal of the season to cap the scoring and secure the 18-1 victory.
- Defensively, the Timberwolves were strong throughout, combining for 13 saves in goal while limiting Malone to just 20 total shots and forcing 28 turnovers.
