RECAP: Northwood men's lacrosse erupted for a dominant offensive performance following a slow start Saturday afternoon (April 18), scoring 20 unanswered goals across the final three quarters to roll past Davis & Elkins, 28-7.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood opened the scoring on a man-up goal from Drew Lockwood at 10:22 of the first quarter, followed just 19 seconds later by a MacKennan Tognetti finish to take a 2-0 lead.
- Davis & Elkins responded with five of the final six goals in the opening frame, taking a 5-3 advantage despite a Dylan Ayotte goal for Northwood midway through the quarter.
- Andrew Rogers jump-started the second quarter comeback with a goal at 14:11, and Lockwood followed at 12:50 to even the score at 5-5.
- After Davis & Elkins briefly tied it at 6-6, Northwood closed the half on a 4-0 run, with goals from Payton Allaire, Lockwood, Daniel Copple, and Gabe Schmoll to take a 10-6 lead into halftime.
- The Timberwolves dominated the third quarter, scoring 10 more unanswered goals, including four from Tognetti and multiple scores from Ryder Mulvey and Rogers.
- Northwood extended the run to 17 straight goals, building a commanding 20-6 lead by the end of the third quarter.
