Men’s Lacrosse Enters NCAA North Regional Rankings At No. 10, The First Official Ranking In Program History

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood men's lacrosse team (10-3, 9-1 G-MAC) continues to make strides on the national stage, earning the No. 10 spot in the initial set of NCAA Division II North Regional Rankings, as released Wednesday (April 22).
After being listed among teams under consideration in last week's release, the Timberwolves have officially broken into the regional rankings, marking the first time the program has appeared in the regional rankings.
Northwood is one of 10 teams recognized in this week's North Region rankings, joining a highly competitive group led by No. 1 Adelphi and No. 2 Saint Anselm. The region also features Molloy, Pace, Assumption, Seton Hill, Saint Michael's, Frostburg State, and Mercy.
The NCAA Division II Men's Lacrosse Championship features an 18-team single-elimination tournament, with eight teams selected from the North Region and ten from the South Region. Conference champions, including the G-MAC, receive automatic qualification, while the remaining spots are filled with at-large selections. To be eligible for at-large consideration, teams must hold a .500 or better record against Division II opponents and compete in at least 10 Division II contests.
The 2026 NCAA Selection Show is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. ET on NCAA.com.
The opening round of the NCAA Tournament begins Wednesday, May 6, followed by the first round on Sunday, May 10. Quarterfinals are set for Wednesday, May 13, with semifinals on Sunday, May 17. The national championship game will take place Sunday, May 24, at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, Virginia.
These latest rankings reflect results through April 19, with the Timberwolves continuing to hold a spot inside the regional top 10 as the NCAA postseason picture begins to take shape. In just their second season of reestablishment, Northwood Men's Lacrosse has secured the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and will host a semifinal matchup next Wednesday (April 29) at 6:30 p.m. at Dean Field. Finishing the regular season at 9-1 in league play and 11-3 overall. The Timberwolves will host the winner of No. 3 Davenport and No. 6 Thomas More. That match will be played on Saturday (April 25).
