The Northwood University men's soccer team won their home opener 4-1 against Walsh University Friday afternoon (September 20).
The Timberwolves netted their first goal of the season late in the first half by Keaton Levock (Clinton Twp., Mich/Niagara). Northwood controlled the pace in the first half taking nine shots to Walsh's three.
Gino Pasquali (Shelby Twp., Mich./Eisenhower) extended NU's lead 2-0 for his first goal of the season in the 60th minute. The Cavaliers then netted their lone goal of the match at 64:13 by Q. Gibbons. The Timberwolves furthered their lead with Levock's second goal of the game in the 75th minute, followed by a penalty kick scored by James DeCosemo (Stokesley, England).
For the match, Northwood finished with a 21-7 advantage in shots.
Northwood will return to action on Sunday (September 22) at home against Malone.
