Men's Tennis Downs Flagler 5-4
The Northwood University men's tennis team picked up a 5-4 road win over Flagler Friday afternoon (March 14).
The Timberwolves are now 5-2 on the season with the win. Flagler falls to 4-10 with the loss.
The Saints earned the early lead after doubles, taking the top two matches to go up 2-1 heading into singles. NU's lone win came at the No. 3 position thanks to Austin Woody (Midland, Mich.) and Felipe Crema Bastistella (São José dos Campos, Brazil).
After struggling at the top of the doubles lineup, it was the top of the singles lineup that carried Northwood to the win. NU picked up straight-set wins at each of the top four positions, with Jean Menard (Amboise, France), Lorenzo Montegiorgi (Velletri, Italy), Salikh Gilmutdinov (Kazan, Russia) and Konstantin Zhukov (Kazan, Russia) each claiming wins.
Northwood will travel to Florida Southern Saturday (March 15). Match time is set for 9 a.m.
