Men's Tennis Drops 6-3 Match At Florida Southern
The Northwood men's tennis team dropped a 6-3 match at No. 25 Florida Southern Saturday morning (March 15).
Northwood falls to 5-3 overall with the loss. Florida Southern improves to 4-6 overall.
The match featured many close contests, including a pair in doubles. FSC earned a 2-1 lead after doubles, with the Mocs earning a 9-7 win at No. 3 doubles and the Timberwolves claiming an 8-6 victory at the No. 1 slot.
Four of the six singles matches went the full three sets, including the matches at the No. 4-6 positions. NU went just 1-3 in those matches, with Lorenzo Montegiorgi (Velletri, Italy) taking a 5-7, 6-4, 7-6 (6) win at the No. 2 position. Northwood's other win in singles came at the No. 1 slot, earning a 7-5, 6-3 victory.
Mendard and Montegiorgi each went 2-0 on the day to lead the way for Northwood.
Northwood will return to conference action at Findlay Wednesday afternoon (March 19). Match time is set for Noon.
