Men's Tennis Set To Play #21Northwest Mo. St. At 1:30 In Round Of 16

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FLA. The Northwood University men's tennis team set to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division II Tennis Championships Round of 16 taking place at Sanlando Park - Altamonte Springs, Fla. May 14-17, 2014. #33 Northwood will play #21 Northwest Mo. St. on Wednesday (May 14) at 1:30 p.m.

NU enters the Round of 16 representing the Midwest Region with an overall record of 19-3, having won the last 14 matches in a row. In the 2014 NCAA Division II Four-Team Opening Round, the Timberwolves downed No. 6 seed McKendree (5-3) before topping the host and No. 2 seed Indianapolis (5-3). Northwood claimed its 20th consecutive GLIAC Championship this season, and has won 14 of the last 15 GLIAC Tournament titles.

The No. 21 ranked Northwest Bearcats enter the Round of 16 with a 17-3 overall record and the top seed of the Central region. After earning the MIAA Conference and regular season Championship this season, the Bearcats drew a bye in the Opening Round of the NCAA Regionals. Northwest then defeated the host, Southwest Baptist (5-1) to advance to the NCAA Round of 16. The Bearcats have the No. 38 singles player in Division II and the No. 17 ranked doubles team.

The winner of tomorrow's match will face the winner of New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) and Armstrong Atlantic on May 15 at 1 p.m.
