Men's Tennis Opens Season With 8-1 Win Over Davenport

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team opened their 2015 season with an 8-1 win over Davenport Saturday afternoon (February 14).

The match was held at the Midland Community Tennis Center. Davenport falls to 2-3 with the loss.

NU picked up two quick wins in doubles to take the early advantage. Davenport then earned a win at the third slot to send the match to singles with the Timberwolves leading 2-1.

In singles, Northwood controlled play from the start. NU won all six matches in straight-sets to clinch the victory.

For the match, Sebastian Equez, Austin Woody and Konstantin Zhukov all went 2-0 on the day to lead Northwood.

The Timberwolves will travel to Walsh February 26 for a 11 a.m. match.
