Men's Tennis Defeats Aquinas 8-1
KISSIMMEE, FLA. – The Northwood University men's tennis team opened their annual trip to Florida with an 8-1 win over Aquinas Sunday afternoon (March 8).
Northwood improves to 5-0 with the win. Aquinas falls to 7-2 with the loss.
Doubles proved to be as close as possible, with all three matches going to a tiebreaker. Northwood pulled out wins at the No. 1 and the No. 3 positions, thanks to the teams of Sebastian Equez/Austin Woody and Felipe Crema Bastistella/Salikh Gilmutdinov
The Timberwolves then controlled the play in singles, winning all six matches. Five of the six matches were won in straight sets.
For the day, Equez, Gilmutdinov, Woody and Bastistella each went 2-0 for the Timberwolves.
