MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team improved to 10-2 on the year with a 7-2 win over Wayne State Saturday afternoon (April 4).

The Timberwolves are undefeated in the GLIAC at 5-0, while the Warriors stand at 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the GLIAC.

The Timberwolves got off to a strong start in doubles, taking two of three positions to earn a 2-1 lead heading into singles. Northwood then won the top five singles matches to clinch the win.

On the day, Salikh Gilmutdinov (Kazan, Russia), Austin Woody (Midland, Mich. / Dow) and Tanini Kader (Obertshausen, Germany) each went 2-0 to lead the way for Northwood.

The Timberwolves will travel to Ferris State on Thursday (April 9). First serve is set for 2 p.m.
