Men's Tennis Drops 5-4 Match At Grand Valley State

ALLENDALE, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team dropped a 5-4 match at Grand Valley State on Sunday afternoon (April 12).

The Timberwolves are now 10-4 overall, 5-2 in the GLIAC. The Lakers improve to 11-3 on the year, 5-2 in the GLIAC.

While the entire match was close, the Lakers edged out multiple extra sets to earn the win. Grand Valley State led in doubles 2-1 going into singles play. Northwood's lone doubles victory was the team of Salikh Gilmutdinov / Tanini Kader pulling out a 9-7 win.

Northwood splitting in singles to earn three wins proved not to be enough. NU's Gilmutdinov (second position), Konstantin Zhukov (fourth position) and Kader (sixth position) led the way for the Timberwolves.

Northwood will be back in action on Saturday (April 18) as they host Michigan Tech. Match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
