Men's Tennis Places Four On All-GLIAC Team

2019 All-GLIAC Teams

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team placed four players on the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Teams, the league announced Saturday (April 27).

Junior Kobus Sauerman was named First Team All-GLIAC, while senior David Reinauer and sophomore Pablo Salamanca earned Second Team All-GLIAC. Ben Brandherm claimed Honorable Mention recognition.

Sauerman played at the top of the lineup in singles and doubles for the Timberwolves this season, earning a total of 13 victories (five singles, eight doubles). He also picked up a total of six conference wins.

Reinauer was Northwood's number two singles player and also played at No. 2 doubles. He went 12-7 in singles and 13-9 in doubles for the Timberwolves this season. His 25 total victories was third on the team.

Salamanca played No. 1 doubles and No. 4 singles. He led Northwood in singles victories this season, going 14-3 overall and 7-1 in GLIAC matches. He also picked up eight wins in doubles with Sauerman.

Brandherm was NU's No. 3 singles and was a part of the No. 3 doubles team. He teamed with Ivan Medvynskyi to lead Northwood in doubles wins with 15. He also added nine singles wins.

Northwood is currently 13-9 overall and is coming off a third place finish at the GLIAC Tournament. The Timberwolves will find out if they have earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament when the field is announced May 7.
