Cross Country Teams Travel To LSSU Chris Yanni Memorial Invitational
SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. – The Northwood University cross country teams traveled to the 2014 Chris Yanni Memorial Laker Invitational on Saturday morning (October 25).
Women finished third and Men finished fourth in team scoring. Ferris State, Lake Superior State and Wayne State competed in the meet.
For the women, Chloe Theil (Plainwell, Mich.) led the way with a 13th place finish at 24:02.5, followed directly behind at 24:10.51 by Jennifer Mckenna (Orchard Lake, Mich. / Walled Lake Northern). Jenny Frantz (Ovid, Mich. / Ovid-Elsie) finished 22nd with a time of 25:10.22. Jacqueline Reneaud (Goodrich, Mich.), Julia Cherwinski (Saginaw, Mich. / Heritage) and Lauren Cianfrini (Akron, N.Y. / Akron Central) also competed for the Timberwolves. A total of 33 runners took part in the women's 6K.
On the men's side, Will Moench (Holland, Mich. / West Ottawa) earned an 8th place finish at 27:14.33. Michael Todd (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant) finished 13th clocking 27:25.48, while David Rowley (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) took 21st with a time of 28:32.50. Tyler Jenson (Ovid, Mich. / Ovid-Elsie), Thomas Rowley (Mt. Pleasant, Mich.) and Matthew Dippel (Kentwood, Mich. / Kentwood) also competed for Northwood. A total of 33 runners took part in the men's 8K.
The Timberwolves will compete in the GLIAC Championships on November 8.
